Microsoft has been in a rather thrusting manner deploying Windows 10 by coercing users of Windows 7 and Windows 8 to upgrade their operating systems. It released cumulative update KB3162018 Build 10586.420 for PC and Mobile. Also, the Store update was something that some Insiders noticed earlier today, so that may be independent of the build.
Build 14366 is available for PCs right now, but Dona Sarkar notes in her blog post that build 14364 for Mobile isn't live just yet. "Our goal is to only offer the Windows 10 upgrade to devices that we are confident can continue to deliver a good customer experience", the company said. This update isn't as exciting as some of the past updates since it focuses primarily on performance and stability updates, but improvements in those areas are always welcome.
We talk about July 29 as the Anniversary Update's release date all the time, but Microsoft actually never confirmed the next major update for Windows 10 will be released on this day. Microsoft will be publishing a series of "quests" through the Insider Hub app that's only available to its Windows Insider public beta testers that will walk people through different processes to look for bugs.
In an effort to improve visibility and access to your newly installed apps, we have moved the "Recently added" section of Start to be located above the "Most used" section in the All apps list.
Other smaller options for Microsoft Surface Phone buyers are a 4 GB of RAM with 32 GB of storage and a 6 GB version with 64 GB of storage, all of which are more than enough to pack in a lot of files and apps. We also fixed an issue where the slider to change display scaling might jump to an unexpected scale factor as you were moving it.
The latest Windows 10 Insider Preview does include a preview of a new Office Online for Microsoft Edge extension. You can view, edit, and create Office files in Microsoft Edge, and access your recent files, thanks to OneDrive and OneDrive for Business integration.
A Windows Store Update includes performance improvements and fixes to prevent the app crashing and using up too many resources.
