The chicken-egg dilemma surrounding VR technology and VR content is another area Google says it's tackling.

EE CEO Marc Allera said: "The Pixel and Pixel XL from Google are market-changing smartphones, created to combine EE's advanced 4G network with the best Google services".

Google Pixel has achieved something that only Apple was able to do until now.

Google, which is best known for its widely used internet search engine, makes most of its money from online software and digital ads. When you buy one of the new phones, it comes with unlimited cloud storage, so no matter how much video and photo work you want to shoot and store, Google's got you covered. In the U.S., Google is partnering exclusively with Verizon to make Pixel available nationwide at all Verizon retail outlets, including Best Buy stores.

The Pixel and Pixel XL mark the foray of Google into the mobile hardware space. Although it sounds fantastic, it does not compare to Google Assistant.

On the bright side, Google retains control of security.
