Less than 24 hours - That's how long it took for the longtime lovers to reunite after Ben publicly confessed to a February 2017 rehab stint an alcohol addiction on March 14.
Was Ben Affleck's alcohol addiction at the root of the problem that caused the couple to consider divorce in the first place? News that he went to rehab in 2001 after his partying ways got him into trouble.
Earlier this year, news outlets revealed that Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck might be finalizing their divorce documents soon. He's not the villain here, and he really doesn't need any more criticism over what was arguably the right decision to step away from The Batman and seek medical attention. Ben, you have worked yourself to the bone this past year.
"I have completed treatment for alcohol addiction; something I've dealt with in the past and will continue to confront", Affleck wrote on Facebook. He described that he aims to eradicate stereotypes associated with rehab and wants to set an example for his kids that there is no shame in getting help.
"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the hard decision to divorce", the pair said in a joint statement to E!
Affleck, unfortunately, had a much more hard time being single in the public eye.
Without calling him his "wife", Ben Affleck pays him a moving tribute: she " encouraged" him and took care of their children while he was being treated for rehab.
The Oscar-winning actor and director cited his children as a major motivation to pursue treatment, in order to "live life to the fullest and be the best father I can be".
A source told PEOPLE that, lately, Affleck "has been struggling and he decided that he needed to get back to being healthy again".
