Drake has finally dropped his long-awaited new "album" More Life, available on streaming services now. New reports claim the hip-hop stud has chose to throw a price tag on his must-hear release. And what songs on the project go the hardest? Production wise, Drizzy leaned on the usual suspects, including 40, Frank Dukes, Boi-1da, Murda Beatz, T-Minus, Nineteen85 and more.
The self-described "playlist" with 22 tracks, was premiered on Drake's OVO Sound Radio show on Beats 1 on Saturday evening, just like Drake announced "Views".
A track that J.Lo, 47, sang on - "Get It Together" - had been changed up by the time Drake, 30, debuted it on "More Life". Like I said, dropping in December. More Life. I've still got vibrations to send. "Be with the people again".
On "Two Birds, One Stone", Drake fired subliminal shots at Kid Cudi and Pusha T, causing Cudi to clap back with a confrontational response on Twitter.
Drake deliberately labeled his latest project a "playlist", and while the difference may be in name only, More Life makes way more sense as the artist's sonic Pinterest board as it does a proper album. But there's still plenty of the sappy, lovesick Drake we know and love in "Free Smoke".
Frankly, it's refreshing: Drake's total emigration to dance music means we can leave behind the joyless, beleaguered Drake who took himself as seriously as Caligula. Also listen to Passionfruit to hear how the sample was put to use on More Life.
