Lang would be a big get for any of these three teams after grading out as PFF's No. 13 guard out of 77 qualifiers last season.
Lang is from the Detroit area and played in college at Eastern Michigan. It's been about four days since I got a good night's sleep.
Bob Quinn said at the NFL Scouting Combine he was excited to see what Detroit's offensive line would look like in 2017. And I didn't want to make any rash decisions. The general manger lured in his second big catch of the offseason, signing Pro Bowl guard T.J. Lang on Sunday. In addition to the foot injury, Lang underwent hip surgery in late January.
Nathan Jahnke of Pro Football Focus noted Lang allowed 27 combined sacks from 2012-14 and then gave up just two in 2015.
Lang, 29, has spent the last eight seasons with the Green Bay Packers, and said they were a finalist along with the Lions and Seattle Seahawks on the Suburban Ford 7 Sports Cave Sunday morning. The Lions' made an aggressive move to upgrade over Riley Reiff at right tackle by signing Rick Wagner to a five-year deal.
"I'll definitely be ready by training camp", he confirmed.
"Went back to Green Bay, they were still in the mix", Lang said during an interview with WXYZ's "Sports Cave". For the Seahawks, signing Lang would be a change of course after assembling a dirt-cheap and very unimpressive offensive line in 2016, which often showed in their performances.
