Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has enjoyed a "position of privilege" by not having to deal with both European and domestic campaigns in his first season in England, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has said.
N'Golo Kante featured off the bench in just two of those games while Diego Costa and Eden Hazard only made the starting line-up for the fifth-round win over Wolves.
"We could have played on Sunday, or Saturday, if the federation (FA) decided it. Arsenal now are out of the Champion League, Chelsea without playing European competition, Liverpool not playing in European competition and we are in this run". Manchester United have lost just one game out of a total of 28 played in all competitions and Mourinho has prioritised the Europa League over the FA Cup in case they don't finish in the top four.
Chelsea took advantage of the dismissal when Kante - who also scored when Chelsea beat United 4-0 in the Premier League back in October - received Willian's ball and drove in a low shot past David De Gea.
"We are in the quarter-final of the FA Cup but we have to fight for everything".
Rashford was a major doubt ahead of the Stamford Bridge clash as the rest of United's squad travelled down to London without the 19-year-old striker.
Chelsea could have won by more, although holders United did have their moments and came close to an equaliser in the second half when Marcus Rashford was foiled by keeper Thibaut Courtois.
And it appeared to work early on, with United containing Chelsea well and carving out chances of their own.
And one section of supporters chanted "F*** off Mourinho", "It's all your fault" - a reference to Chelsea's implosion last season - "You're not special any more" and "Judas".
Ashley Young earned himself a yellow card after cynically bringing down Victor Moses near Conte, which left the Chelsea manager fuming.
Mourinho rebuked Conte on that occasion after the Italian had implored the crowd to cheer with Chelsea coasting.
"They defend a lot and well, and they kill opponents on the counter-attack, similar to my Chelsea".
The former Juventus manager used the previous rounds of the FA Cup to rest some of his key assets to keep them fresh for the Premier League.
