The jury has wrapped up a second day of deliberations without reaching a verdict in the Bill Cosby sexual assault trial.

Jurors appeared exhausted and spent when they chose to call it quits late Tuesday after about 16 hours of deliberations.

It should be noted that the jury selected for this trial was chosen from a pool of potential jurors in Allegheny County near Pittsburgh, completely across the state from the county in which the case was tried.

Cosby is charged with three counts of aggravated indecent assault.

"It is not uncommon for jurors to ask for transcripts of testimony or for portions of testimony to be read back to them".

Constand testified for more than seven hours last week and said that Cosby gave her three pills that left her unable to stop the alleged sexual assault. She would not say whether a guilty verdict will change her mind of Cosby. In part, they pointed to Constand's initial statement to police in 2005 that she had never been alone with him beforehand and cut off all contact afterward, both untrue. "The testimony of the defendant may be used to assess the defendant's intent or motive and plan where the prosecution's theory is that the defendant operates according to a certain pattern", she said.

Even though Judge Steven O'Neill allowed testimony from Andrea Constand's neighbor, who said the Cosby accuser wasn't herself after the alleged incident, O'Neill refused to allow Jackson to testify. "I am not stopped" (Constand denies sexual activity; she testified she rebuffed Cosby when he touched her trousers by leaning forward).

While Cosby did not testify at his trial, a decade-old deposition testimony he gave during Constand's civil suit against him armed prosecutors with evidence. Cosby has denied all of the accusations, saying any sex with the women was consensual.

Outside the court, Ms Constand's lawyers blasted the Cosby team for releasing a statement from a woman who had been blocked from giving evidence at the trial. In the deposition, which became public almost two years ago, Mr. Cosby said he gave Ms. Constand three half-tablets of the cold and allergy medicine Benadryl. "They'll take the edge off", Cosby told her, she testified.

The 79-year-old former comedian has been accused of sexually assaulting more than 40 women over the years. "Who says that?", Steele had asked the jury incredulously. Count three pertains to whether Cosby administered "drugs, intoxicants or other means for the goal of preventing resistance" without Constand's knowledge. Constand told police she was semi-conscious as he touched her breast and genitals.

But he said he no longer had them when he met Constand in 2002 at Temple University.

The AP does not typically identify people who say they are victims of sexual assault unless they grant permission, which Constand has done.

Andrea Constand says she was drugged and molested.

She woke up on the couch early in the morning with her clothes disheveled, she said. His wife of 53 years, Camille, was not with him as she was on Monday, her first appearance since the trial began June 5. He further said that, in her first interview, she claimed to have never been alone with his client before the alleged attack, but later contradicted that statement saying that she spent time alone at his home before the alleged assault at a CT casino resort.
