Police believe the suspect to be 51-year-old Kenneth Dion Lever.
Three people were shot to death early Wednesday (July 12) and the gunman is on the loose in a suburb north of Birmingham, Ala., AL.com reported.
The suspect's vehicle is a black 2007 Lincoln Navigator with Florida tag # 689NFN.
The protection order was issued in Jefferson County, Alabama, the same county as the triple homicide on Wednesday.
At the time, Lever's wife ex-wife claimed that the man was abusing her 11-year-old daughter during unsupervised visitation. Police asked residents to remain inside most of Wednesday morning as they searched for Lever, who they considered armed and risky. The Florida man is suspected in the fatal shootings of three adults in an apparent domestic dispute Wednesday morning.
"We ask that all citizens in this the Peach Tree community shelter in place", Gardendale police posted to Facebook. The girl, according to public records, had been seeing a therapist and the therapist called the mother with concerns.
Separately, charges against Lever involving sexual abuse of a minor were filed in York County, Pennsylvania, according to the request from Dana Lever. According to the department, a protection from abuse order was issued against Lever in Jefferson County just past year.

The victims in the case have been identified as Lever's ex-wife, Dana Lever, 50, of Gardendale, and Bonnie Reeves Foshee, 65, and Don Austin Foshee, 69, both of Fultondale.
