The actor will be shifted to the Aluva sub jail. Dileep is now likely to approach the Kerala High Court for bail.
The prosecution had argued that if bail was granted to the actor, he could influence witnesses and also tamper with the evidence. The actor also did not respond to the questions by the media. He waved at the people before boarding the police van. Yesterday, the court had extended his police custody till today. The special prosecutor recalled the actor's statements and reactions before his arrest which apparently preyed on the victim.
The prosecution has said that there are enough proofs to support the charges against the actor.
He alleged that there was no evidence against Dileep and he was being framed in the case.
Suni was later arrested by the police.
Meanwhile, Dileep's lawyer submitted two mobile phones, which allegedly have the visuals of the assault, before the court for scientific examination. If Dileep was released, chances of the police recovering the mobile phone would decline. This is what is prompting the police to arrest Appunni. Dileep was arrested on Monday night, and on Tuesday he was remanded to 14 days judicial custody.
Police have claimed that the conspiracy to abduct and assault the actress and film the dastardly act was hatched by Dileep and "Pulsar" Suni, the prime accused in the case.
Reports suggest that investigators had conducted a raid at Dileep's residence on Saturday to get the visuals of the abducted actress which were captured by main accused Pulsar Suni and his gang when she was assaulted in a moving auto near Athani in Angamaly on February 17.
Breaking her silence on July 13, the actress had expressed the hope that truth would come out in the case.
