WWE Great Balls of Fire may have a bad name, but the PPV is looking good on paper.
However, Cena seems to be back for at least a few months now, and so obviously the WWE is going to use him at SummerSlam. In recent WWE Raw episodes, Titus has hyped the title match and even said that Tozawa could win against Neville. With Austin Aires released, WWE do not have many contenders left who can legitimately pose a threat to the King of the Cruiserweights. With Aries gone, Neville is pretty much going to dominate even longer.
This split up of the most entertaining tag team in the past year comes as a big shock for many, but this also means bigger things are lined up for the seven-foot tall, Big Cass. This fight is the second tag team Iron Man Match held in the history of WWE.
Tag Team Championship - Sheamus & Cesaro (c) vs. These two were enemies previous year, but have managed to make a great team ever since they joined together. That energy and the checks his mouth writes that his fists can't cash is what got him here, in a match against his former best friend Big Cass. Not to mention their characters have not changed and they've all had generic singles matches. As for Dean Ambrose, maybe a Shield reunion is in the cards? This feels like a setup match for a rematch at SummerSlam, so I'm going with the champion to retain in a manner that sets up the need for a rematch.
Big Cass (1/14) is favored to beat Enzo Amore (11/2).
Last month, the teams battled again in a "2-of-3 Falls" match on "Raw".
Alexa Bliss vs. Sasha Banks for the Raw Women's Championship: Creative breathed new life into Sasha Banks by having her win the gauntlet match and force Bliss to tap in a glorified handicap match. Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer reported in June that the current Angle storyline has to do with Triple H. Perhaps Stephanie McMahon will soon return to discipline Angle for something, and this will build up to Angle facing her husband, Triple H. The same can not be said about Bray Wyatt who is a glorified jobber.
The unstoppable Neville puts his Cruiserweight title on the line against Akira Tozawa in another championship match, while Alexa Bliss looks to meet the challenge of Sasha Banks as her Raw Women's Championship is up for grabs. We'll have to see what will happen in Dallas on July 9th.
Already there are rumors about possible matches being planned for SummerSlam.
Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman will go to battle in an Ambulance match.
Given the talent involved, this feels like a waste of both men and the build-up has been boring and uninteresting. Samoa Joe has looked strong since the shocking victory, attacking Paul Heyman and almost causing Brock Lesnar to pass out after he applied the Coquina Clutch. So, if you were hoping for a Samoa Joe win on Sunday, then you'll likely end up being disappointed. Lesnar's matches have been kind of boring lately with him spamming the German Suplex over and over again.
Hopefully this match is fast and smash mouth. Samoa Joe is not a small guy so he should be able to get more offense if this is booked right.
