The phone was launched at an event in New Delhi. The Mi 6, which is a flagship Xiaomi phone comparable to other high-end devices right now, has been only launched in China. The phablet runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat, which comes pre-installed, with Xiaomi's MIUI 8 OS on top of it. There is support for 4G LTE with VoLTE, Dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC. The Screen Display size is 5.7 Inches with IPS LCD touch. The announcement post also contains a promo image that gives us a glimpse of the upcoming smartphone. Also, the antenna lines have been shifted to the phone's perimeter giving the rear a nice and smooth finish.
The phone comes with features like one hand mode, dual app instances, pocket mode and a security centre. Other than that, the Chinese smartphone would ship a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor - not a Snapdragon 660 as previously mentioned - to which 4 GB of RAM would be associated. The processor is aided by 4GB of RAM. The large screen smartphone is the successor to Mi Max which was launched past year and established demand for big sized phones. The fingerprint sensor will be placed at the back as well. Xiaomi is known for cramming the best possible hardware into their smartphones at the lowest possible prices and has a remarkable fan base in India, where customers lean toward budget smartphones.
In terms of camera, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 features a 12MP Sony IMX386 1.25-micron large-pixel camera sensor at the back and a 5MP front camera. On the front is a 5-MP with f/2.0 large aperture and 85-degree wide angle lens. For the Mi Fans that the company calls it, Xiaomi has partnered with Reliance Jio to offer free data of up to 100GB if you are buying the Mi Max 2. The phone charges up to 68% in one hour.
One of the USP of Mi Max 2 is that it is packed with massive 5300mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 which is claimed to provide up to 18 hours of video playback, 57 hours of talktime, or over 31 days on standby.
