Meredith signed with the Bears in 2015 as an undrafted free agent and had a breakout season previous year.
The 2017 season was probably going to be rough for the Bears.
But Bears fans get a unique chance for some intrigue in the team's final preseason game against the Browns on Thursday at Soldier Field. It doesn't seem too serious, not almost as bad as Skuta's concussion, and had it been a regular season game Floyd likely would have played.
Long-snapper Patrick Scales also sustained an apparently serious knee injury while covering on special teams, while free agent signing Prince Amukamara injured his ankle. Likely had additional damage, too.
Earlier: On Friday, New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman and Kansas City Chiefs running back Spencer Ware suffered season-ending knee injuries in preseason action.
Meredith was supposed to come into Week 1 as the Bears No. 1 receiver, and seemed poised for a breakout season after an impressive sophomore campaign.

Trubisky has played extremely well this preseason. The Bears took a step in the right direction and the defense continues to show just how great they are, but if these injuries continue to pile up it could be the end of any hope.
