That's 5 cents below the current national average but 24 cents higher than the price in MA a year ago at this time.
The New York state average this week is $2.48 per gallon, up three cents from last week, and a year ago, the state average was $2.31.
Kansas City - $2.10/g, down 2.7 cents per gallon from last week's $2.13/g.
That's according to a weekly survey by AAA Northeast on Monday.
San Antonio- $2.11/g, up 10.6 cents per gallon from last week's $2.00/g.
There was an oversupply earlier in the summer, leading to the cheaper gas prices.
This morning, Springfieldians could purchase gas for as low as $2.03 per gallon at a handful of filling stations. Pump prices in 47 states and Washington, D.C., moved higher last week, resulting from strong demand, rising exports and declining US crude oil inventory levels.
"Motorists are now finding gas prices 14 cents more than this time previous year", Jenkins said on Monday.
The average price of gas in Hampton Roads is $2.17, which is still slightly higher than the state average.
"Strong gasoline demand across the country is continuing to push prices higher at the pump, a trend that we don't see letting up through the end of summer", said Steward.
"The 2017 demand average over the past four weeks is about one percent ahead of the same four-week period a year ago", its weekly market report read.
Huntsville- $2.08, up 5.5 cents per gallon from last week's $2.03.
AAA found regular selling for as low as $2.15 and as high as $2.53.
