Samsung hasn't made a big official announcement but a product page on its Chinese website lists the details of the device.
The new Leadership 8 is an upgraded version of the Samsung's W2017 flip phone with notable improvements on the processor and camera front. It has also not announced if they will be selling the phone in India or like its predecessors it will be exclusive to China.
The latest Samsung flip phone is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 821 chipset.
It also has 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and a 12-megapixel f/1.7 rear camera that sounds about as good as you'd expect from a typical flagship Samsung phone. Somehow there are still people who find flip phones cool. The front snapper has a 5-megapixel sensor which has a f/1.9 aperture and flash for better photography. For now, it comes in only one colour-black.
The Samsung G-9298, which is also called the Leader 8 or Leadership 8 when translated from Chinese, has two 4.2-inch screens, one on the front and one on the inner side of the device. Since the phone is packed with an advance technology feature, it also supports Wireless Charging. The Leader 8 weighs 235 grams, is 15.9 mm thick, and comes with quite a few features including Samsung Pay, Secure Folder, and S Voice.
There's now no word from Samsung as to how much the Leader 8 will cost or when it will be available, but don't expect it to be released anywhere in Western markets. Similar to the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, the flip phone does not come with a dedicated button for Samsung's Bixby.
