However, the police have not confirmed this yet.
Debbie Lane told WFAA television station that her daughter, Meredith Lane, was among those killed in the shooting. The names and relationships of those at the home, and the name of the police officer, were not released. Seven were dead and two injured.
The shooting reportedly happened during a Dallas Cowboys watch party.
Police say they will continue to process the scene and are working with the Texas Rangers on the case. This morning investigators are at home where seven people were found shot dead. It is believed the shoot-out was prompted by a "domestic dispute" at the party for fans of National Football League team the Dallas Cowboys, the United States media reported. One witness said she heard between 30 and 40 shots fired around 8 p.m. local time. Then around 8 pm, she heard gunshots and smelled gunpowder.
"I've been here all my life", Plano police spokesman David Tilley said, according to The Dallas Morning News. Authorities are trying to determine the suspect's motive, as well as why the officer initially opened fire on the suspect.
None of the victims have been identified, and any relation to the suspected shooter is unknown, Tilley said. Two additional people had to be hospitalized for their injuries, Dallas News reports.
It is unclear how the people in the house were connected.
