The NY Times reports that previous year, a bus owned by Dahlia overturned while traveling to a CT casino, injuring 30 people.
The injured have been sent to three nearby hospitals, Officer James Byrne with the New York Police Department (NYPD) said.
Officials said the three people died were the driver of the private bus, a passenger on the MTA bus and a person on the street who was run over.
Officials said the driver of the private tour bus, a passenger, and a pedestrian were killed in the collision.
It happened at 6:18 a.m. on Main Street and Northern Boulevard in Flushing. "It's hard to compare it to anything I've ever seen, the sheer destruction".
Lhota said that he will wait until the investigation happens "so we'll get a better idea of what actually caused this". "That requires an enormous amount of speed", Lhota said.
"We've had a really tragic morning here in Flushing, Queens", Mayor Bill de Blasio said.
Heavy traffic delays were expected in the area as authorities canvassed the scene.
A building that houses a number of retail stores, including a fried chicken restaurant, received substantial impact from the crash, and experts were working to make sure it was secure, de Blasio said.
Sixteen other people are hurt, some of them seriously.
Dahlia has been cited for unsafe driving multiple times by federal regulators. A person answering the phone there declined to comment; there was no immediately response to an emailed comment request.
