"There are no politics in eight feet of water", said Bullock to People magazine. "I am working closely with my team at BeyGOOD as well as my pastor (Rudy Rasmus at St John's in downtown Houston) to implement a plan to help as many as we can". Fresno County residents can donate new, unopened goods that include underwear, socks, warmups for adults and children, toiletries, hygiene products, baby items such as formula, wipes, bottles, diapers and Graco Pack 'n Plays for babies to sleep in.
"Massive disasters like Hurricane Harvey create many critical and immediate needs, so we are heartened by donations like this - which allow us to provide immediate shelter, food and comfort to thousands in need", she said. "We're grateful and humbled by the outpouring of support from our viewers".
A preliminary estimate from AccuWeather predicts Harvey could leave behind $160 billion in damage, making it the costliest natural disaster in US history.
