Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe today visited the Sidi Saiyyed Ki Jaali mosque in Ahmedabad, the last of the major Mughal era shrines in the Gujarat city.
"We do not want to transgress propriety by commenting on a state visit but it is rather quixotic that the Prime Minister of a country as important as Japan, who is nearly India's strategic partner in many respects, is strangely not even being hosted in Delhi", he said. During the journey, the bullet train will also pass through the 21 km long tunnel which is the country's biggest tunnel and has 7 km of its stretch under the sea.
Both of them also participated in a road show to Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad.
Ever since Narendra Modi left Gujarat to become Prime Minister in 2014, the BJP was forced to appoint two chief ministers in a bid to retain its hold on the state.
The train's journey, at a minimum operating speed of 320 km/hour, will begin at Sabarmati Railway Station - with 10 cars and 750 passengers - and will culminate at the Bandra-Kurla Complex in, Mumbai, within three hours, after covering 12 stations on the 508-km route.
Shinzo Abe and his wife will be hosted at the Heritage Hotel of Agashe (meaning terrace) part of the House of Mangaldas, where they will also get a glimpse of the structures of India's first world Heritage City. Abe had invited Trump to visit Japan during his February visit to the U.S. The ashram was established by Mahatma Gandhi on the banks of the River Sabarmati. Adding that Japan must not make "random comments", the Chinese foreign ministry had said "the Japanese ambassador in India might really want to back India, but I want to warn him not to speak carelessly before he is fully aware of the facts".
Modi, Abe, and the Japanese first lady then paid floral tributes at Gandhi's statue.
So going by what officials from the National High-Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRC) told HT, the fair could be anywhere between ₹3,000 and ₹5,000, depending on the train speed.
Japanese PM Abe was accorded a ceremonial reception on his arrival at the Ahmedabad Airport, on Wednesday. The two leaders will deliver statements to the media. The discussions between the two nations may also feature Nuclear pact, signed in 2016, the Asia-Africa Growth Corridor (AAGC), launched in May this year.
