Microsoft officially confirmed on September 1 that its Windows 10 Fall Creators Update release will begin to roll out to mainstream users worldwide starting October 17. Smart Ink uses artificial intelligence to inking, allowing people to draw more flawless squares or turn boxes into a table.
The Update will also include support for mixed reality, both from headsets and on the PC. The firm is, of course, talking about its Story Remix feature, which it announced at its Build developer conference this year. Likewise, it revealed that some of its Mixed Reality headsets are launching on the same date.
The company is simultaneously finalizing the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, which is expected to arrive on October 17, and developing the update that will come after it. Aimed at making Windows more modern and sophisticated by adding effects with lighting and transparency, this is a welcomed feature and makes Windows a bit more appealing for the user.
The company redacted the press release, but by that time it was already too late, as the news made it on Twitter and other social media outlets. It will finally make its debut in the Fall Creators Update, letting you pin icons for your favorite contacts for easy sharing and communicating via multiple channels and apps. The update will also mark the debut of the new Windows Fluent Design System, which aims to upgrade the look and feel of the OS and apps. And, if you love these Xbox play anywhere games, coming on November 7 you can play them on the most powerful console on the planet, Xbox One X.
The update, which will launch roughly six months after the first, contains a number of fresh features in addition to the usual bug fixes and security patches. Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo will be releasing headsets over time.
Principal to the Fall Update is the activation of Windows Mixed Reality functionality.
Myerson said those dealing with Lou Gehrig's disease would welcome the update, as might other physically challenged Windows users, because Microsoft has included Eye Control.
