Adrian's Siena Heights University is ranked 118 in the list of Midwestern regional universities. It is also ranked in the 201-250 category globally alongside Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) in the QS Graduate Employability Rankings.
Among regional schools in the South, Loyola University is ranked 10th and Xavier University is tied for 25th.
Illinois State University has placed in the top 100 universities in the nation in recent years; placing 83 in the country this year.
"NMSU has been known as a top tier university for several years now", said NMSU Chancellor Garrey Carruthers.
Stanford University topped the list, making it the world-leader, followed by the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and Harvard University. This the fourth straight year in which the overall ranking has improved.
The University of Kansas climbed three spots and tied for 53rd among public universities in this year's U.S. News & World Report's "Best Colleges" rankings.
Xavier and UC were on the list for A+ schools for B students, a category described as where "nonsuperstars have a decent shot at being accepted and thriving". Whereas Alumni Outcome is based on QS' analysis of more than 30,000 of the world's most innovative, creative, wealthy, entrepreneurial, and/or philanthropic individuals. A&M; surpassed Baylor University, which fell four spots this year to 75th overall. Data collected by HPU in accordance with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) standards shows 95 percent of the Class of 2015 and the Class of 2016 were employed or in graduate school within six months of graduation.
The UI is now ranked 78th in the "Best National Universities" category, which contains 300 USA public, private, and for-profit institutions.
According to its website, the U.S. News ranking system "uses exclusively statistical quantitative and qualitative measures that education experts have proposed as reliable indicators of academic quality, and it is based on U.S. News' researched view of what matters in education".
UB's School of Engineering and Applied Sciences is again top ranked by U.S. News, rated No. 70 among the country's best undergraduate engineering programs at schools whose highest degree is a doctorate.
The regional universities category consists of schools that provide a full range of undergraduate majors and master's programs, but offer few, if any, doctoral programs.
Nationally, the university was ranked No. 103.
