At present, the mid-2000s Maruti WagonR was being used by the Aam Aadmi Party's media coordinator Vandana Singh.
After registering a theft FIR in the case, the Delhi police formed teams to trace the stolen auto. Sources said CCTV footage showed a man boarding the vehicle around 1.04pm and driving away with it. Police said they are hunting for the auto on priority as it has a sticker allowing access to Vidhan Sabha and VIP areas. The AAP leader's WagonR was stolen from near Delhi Secretariat.
A police complaint has been lodged.
It is interesting to note though that the auto was not being used by Kejriwal who now makes use of an official vehicle. "The police are examining the CCTV camera's footage of the secretariat and efforts are on to identify the accused person". It is still in the name of AAP, but Mr Kejriwal no longer uses this auto.
The auto, along with Kejriwal himself, made headlines when the AAP boos travel in it while campaigning for the chief minister's post, which he won in January 2014.
Mr Kejriwal, who has weathered many run-ins with the police, which reports not to his government but the centre, asked on Twitter about where it's "dhyan" or attention is focused.
