According to Jason Burt of the Telegraph, while Sanchez will be available for free next summer when his contract expires-and can reach agreements with clubs in January to that end-City are expected to make a bid for him in an attempt to snap him up early. The fact that we didn't find agreement past year doesn't mean he wants to leave.
Before suggesting they could depart in January: "Once you are in our kind of situation, we have envisaged every solution yes".
Of Sanchez's potential availability on Saturday against Watford, Wenger said: "I will have to speak with him, I watched the whole game [ against Brazil]".
"I hope the situation can be turned around".
"Wenger is clearly anticipating that Sanchez will be very low when he returns from the global break".
"I have concerns. I will decide tomorrow what I will do", said the Frenchman on Thursday. "It is not happening at the moment" - and Merson's return to football with fourth-tier Welsh club Caerau of Maesteg - "We talk about professional football here". The 25-year-old has made just three appearances this season after recovery from a broken leg and is concerned about future opportunities, but Wenger feels his World Cup ambitions can be fulfilled at The Emirates Stadium.
Asked if he was anxious about Sanchez's mental state, Wenger said: "I will have to speak to him".
"I believe he and Ramsey are winners and will want to focus on winning things".
He could not guide his country to World Cup qualification, and Wenger admits he does not know the effect it will have on the player. "I will always appreciate him and I will always wish him the best wherever he goes".
Arsenal fans already upset at Sanchez failing to commit himself to the club are now even more frustrated following Chile's World Cup exit.
