California-based social media networking service, Facebook is now facing a major outage leaving the users logged out of the popular social media platform.
Facebook and Instagram experienced a global outage on Wednesday. In some cases, users were simply unable to use certain basic functions, such as posting on either Facebook or Instagram.
The outage affected users across the world, including Japan, Brazil, India, the majority of Europe and the United States.
Reports of the outage started spiking a little after 11 a.m. EDT on Wednesday and were continuing more than half an hour later.
Mashable reports that both desktop and mobile users are experiencing problems. A hashtag "facebookdown" trended worldwide on Twitter as people swapped social networks to check whether the service is really down or not. Though there's no official comment on Facebook's official Twitter account, a company spokesperson told CNET website, "We're aware that some people are now having trouble accessing Facebook and Instagram".
Apparently you go to Twitter to confirm that you're not the only one who can't get onto the other social media websites.
