Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns have been pulled from the TLC pay-per-view effectively canceling The Shield's reunion.
Due to an illness going round in the WWE locker room, WWE TLC 2017 is getting some major changes. "We have confirmed that three of our performers have been diagnosed with a viral infection", reads the statement.
Angle, now appearing on-screen as the general manager of "Monday Night Raw", will take Reigns' spot in the "Tables, Ladders and Chairs" main event, teaming up with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose to take on The Miz, Sheamus, Cesaro, Braun Strowman and Kane.
Angle performing on the TLC PPV this weekend would mark the Olympic gold medalist's first match in a WWE ring in over 11 years.
While it would've been great for Angle's return to the ring to include a build-up, and it sucks that the possible reason for it is an illness of one of WWE's top performers, this does create a lot of intrigue for Sunday's event. In addition, former WWE Champion AJ Styles will replace Bray Wyatt and face "The Demon" Finn Bálor. The pairing of Styles and Balor is a dream match for many wrestling fans who have followed their careers on the independent scene to WWE. His work has been featured on Sports Illustrated, ESPN.com, FOXSports.com, CBSSports.com and many others.
It's unclear, however, if both wrestlers have contracted meningitis or if this is just precautionary.
