Before you go and change the channel on Sunday, listen to why the game between the Cleveland Browns and New York Jets is one you should tune into during the early slate of Week 5 games. Here are three keys to victory for Gang Green as it tries to move into a tie for first place in the AFC East.
- Falling behind in all four losses hasn't helped the Browns' re-commitment to the run game. "But it's just about maintaining your focus, " he said. Come Sunday, we'll see whether it makes a difference. Tyrod Taylor ran circles around the Gang Green defense in Week 1, and while the Jets performed better against the agile Blake Bortles last week, they did allow the Jacksonville QB to escape outside for a 27-yard run at the end of the third quarter.
Forte will be sidelined for the second straight game while recovering from turf toe.
The Jets will start Bilal Powell with Forte out and also use rookie Elijah McGuire. The blocking on both plays was outstanding.
Linebacker Chris Kirksey said Garrett's teammates will try to help him not put the weight of this 0-4 team on his shoulders. "I am ready to play, ready to show what I can do". He's a vertical returner. I enjoy talking to him and some of the other really smart ones about, 'How do you see this guy? Otherwise, he's going to find himself looking for another team this upcoming offseason, especially if Williams wakes up faster which most likely will be what happens. The Jets are treating Peppers with plenty of respect, and they held a similarly dynamic returner, the Raiders' Cordarrelle Patterson, in check in Week 2. Luckily for you, there's a ton of options to utilize to catch this game.
Starting cornerback Buster Skrine, who injured his foot in practice this week, is questionable as is defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson (shoulder).
Slumping receiver Kenny Britt won't play this week, either.
