"Since the NAB has not yet received a reply from the United Kingdom authorities, it has chose to pursue the matter in person", a source said, adding that the team would make sure its return before October 13 to submit a report to the accountability court in Islamabad in connection with the indictment of ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam and sons Hassan and Hussain.
On October 2, the anti-corruption court had issued non-bailable arrest warrants against Safdar and Sharif's sons Hassan and Hussain, and a bailable warrant for Maryam.
The NAB authorities had to seek help of the Islamabad police when the charged workers of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-N lay down in front of the NAB vehicle carrying Capt Safdar.
Sharif and his sons were absent during the hearing as they are still in London to attend to Kulsoom.
The former PM's daughter also said that while her family is arrested on airport when they voluntarily appear before the court, there are some absconders who are never arrested even when they evade courts and hold public gatherings.
Returning from London, where Nawaz Sharif's wife is being treated for throat cancer, the couple are reportedly here to appear before an anti-graft tribunal in connection with the NAB reference pertaining to London properties owned by their family.
The NAB said that since there has been no extradition treaty between Pakistan and the UK, Sharif's sons may not be brought back here to face the three corruption and money laundering cases against them.
Muhammad Bashir, judge of the accountability court, is hearing the references against former Prime Minister Nawaz and his family members.
The court also barred Captain Safdar from leaving Pakistan without the court's permission. May be legal experts and judges would save them but the way the stains of law, justice and constitution have been imprinted, it will take time to wash them, she remarked. She said judicial system of Pakistan will be tested by her. The court also chose to conduct separate trials of Husain and Hasan from Sharif and his daughter and son-in-law. "But here the case which was started from Panama ended on Iqama and these cases would continue till the Day of Judgment".
