One of the biggest injuries from Week 5, with two games yet to be completed, happened when New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham went down with a severe-looking left leg injury late in Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Giants did not say that Beckham will miss the rest of the season, but that seems likely given the severity of the injury and the extended recovery and rehab time that is coming Beckham's way.
The Giants coach also confirmed that Beckham will be undergoing surgery at some point this week.
"I spoke to him after the game", McAdoo said.
With Beckham and Haris out and Marshall and Shepard ailing, Roger Lewis was the only healthy receiver on the Giants' roster as of Sunday evening. Sterling Shepard is considered day-to-day with his sprained ankle, and Brandon Marshall will have more tests Monday on his sprained ankle.
Beckham was carted off of the field after suffering a fractured ankle in the fourth quarter of the loss.
As far as any long-term effect to Beckham's health, McAdoo said he has not gotten into any of that.
Odell wasn't the only Giants wide receiver injured in yesterday's loss, which dropped the team to 0-5 on the season. "They're well-deserving of opportunities". Neither player returned in the second half.
