HMD Global launches a new Nokia 5 in India for ₹13,499, which offers 3 GB RAM instead of just 2 GB RAM in the normal model. To remedy the same, Nokia seems to have quietly launched the 3GB RAM variant of the Nokia 5.

The new variant of the Nokia 5 is priced at Rs.13,499 which is little higher than the 2GB RAM variant of the Nokia 5 which costs Rs.12,949. Apart from the upgraded RAM, everything else remains the same. After the first sale, Nokia 5 will also be made available in select retails stores. The phone is now available in 3GB and 2 GB RAM variants. If you are fond of the Nokia 8's flagship design, but can not afford it, then this device offers similar tech specifications at a much lower price tag.

We do know for a fact that extra RAM does make a difference on Android smartphones especially when having apps running in the background. For those of you who are still unaware of this, the Nokia 5 arrived to India back in June this year, along with its Nokia 3 and Nokia 6 siblings. For selfies and video calling, there is an 8-megapixel camera at front.

The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 mobile platform and has internal memory of 16GB that can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot. There is a 3000 mAh battery on-board as well. It runs on Android Nougat out of the box and will soon receive the latest Android 8.0 Oreo update.

On the imaging front, the Nokia 5 packs a 13MP rear camera with dual LED flash and an 8MP selfie camera.

It is also worthy to note that the Nokia 5 is dual SIM enabled with support for LTE and VoLTE. Ajay Yadav, the Vice President of Smartphones at Flipkart added, "We are delighted to partner with HMD Global for the new launch of the Nokia 5 exclusively on Flipkart".
