An Army soldier was martyred and a civilian was left injured after an encounter was broke between the security forces and terrorists in Aglar Kandi, Rajpura of Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama on Monday. "There are some challenges in handling M4 rifle".
Khan said appropriate authorities and "concerned embassies" will be informed about the recovery of the M4. "This is used by the special forces of the Pakistan army", said Major General BS Raju, General officer commanding (GOC) of the Victor Force, adding: "so we have a reason to believe that this weapon was given by Pakistan army to JeM cadres".
"It is for the first time that M4 carbine has been recovered in Kashmir".
He said another weapon recovered was AK 74, it is the advanced version of AK 47 rifle.
"Top commanders have been killed but militancy is still there", they said.
An army soldier Sham Sundar of 44 RR sustained serious bullet injuries in an attack at Aglar Kandi village of the district, he was referred to army hospital in Srinagar where he succumbed, police said.
Raju said the M4 is used by North Atlantic Treaty Organisation forces as well as by the Special Forces of the Pakistan Army.
Of the three slain terrorists, two were Pakistan and were associated with Jaish-e-Mohammad.
The security forces also gunned down three terrorists in the operation.
