The phone, which was launched globally last month, will be sold at a price of Rs 6,999. Ajey Mehta, Vice President and Country Head at HMD has announced this news on his Twitter handle. The company has also confirmed that the smartphone will be updated to Android Oreo soon.
Nokia 2 is now listed on the e-commerce website at Rs 7,299. The Nokia 8, much like the Nokia 6, has a physical home button on the front that also houses a fingerprint scanner, and is flanked by touch-based capacitive keys which are backlit.
Nokia 2 was unveiled earlier this month and the company had revealed everything about it with the only exception of its Indian price. The smartphone from HMD Global can be bought from major retail stores across India starting 24th November. It features a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor with Adreno 304 GPU. The Nokia 2 has 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of onboard storage which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.
The design of the device mainly consists of polycarbonate panels with a series 6000 aluminium frame which should make it sturdy while keeping things simple. The Nokia 2 is available in three different colours: Copper Black, Pure Black and White.
The Nokia 2 will come running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
The imaging aspects of the smartphone include an 8MP primary camera at its rear with autofocus and LED flash and a 5MP selfie camera at the front.
The Nokia 2 sports a 5-inch HD LTPS display. The battery is the highlight of the phone which is a 4100mAh unit, supposed to offer two days of battery life with moderate usage. The Nokia 2, Xiaomi Redmi 4, Xiaomi Redmi 4A, and the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite offers dual nano-SIM card slots with 4G LTE and VoLte capability.
