The Oppo F5 comes in two variants in India. The selfie camera comes with AI technology which promises clear and attractive selfies and can be used to unlock the device using facial recognition. The A.I. Beauty Recognition technology uses artificial intelligence to recognise skin tone and type, gender and age of all subjects within an image by scanning more than 200 facial recognition spots and learns facial features unique to each subject, regardless of the angle or lighting. Also, the front camera is claimed to recognize if there's a background light or can add luminance to portraits for improved selfies.

The same camera is capable of capturing bokeh shots even though it is only a single camera unit. The OPPO F5 is the successor to the OPPO F3 launched past year and comes with a bezel-less design, improved hardware, and enhanced cameras. Apart from that, the smartphone is also equipped with facial unlock feature. Both variants of Oppo F5 will be available starting November 8. Hence with the collaboration between OPPO and Garena, customers will get free "Joker" character in the MOBA game AOV (Arena of Valor). Just like previous F series smartphones, the main highlight of the Oppo F5 is its selfie shooter.

Oppo F5 comes with 6-inch 18:9 FHD+ full-screen 2.5D curved glass display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It isn't a metal backplate that is given on the back of the phone, but a polycarbonate one.

Coming to the camera department, the device features a 16MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, phase detection autofocus and an LED flash. Oppo is offering 32GB of on board storage which can be further augmented with a triple slot that supports twin nano SIM cards and a memory card slot including a trans flash card. The device runs the new ColorOS 3.2 based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat which brings new features such as O-Share - a wireless transfer technology between OPPO devices; gaming DND; Night Shield which lets you choose between normal, warm, and black and white modes so your eyes are protected and face unlock. Measuring 156.5 x 76 x 7.5mm, the smartphone is backed by a 3200mAh battery and offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Global Positioning System as connectivity options.
