Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith told the Athens Banner-Herald that Patrick was charged with possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana.
According to UGASports.com, the school's student-athlete handbook calls for dismissal from the team after a third drug-related offense.
Two years ago, Patrick and then-teammate Chauncey Rivers were arrested for possession of marijuana.
The arrest took place at 11:50 p.m. but no other details were available and Georgia officials have yet to comment. According to 11Live News, Patrick is facing marijuana possession charges.
Patrick started and helped Georgia win Saturday's SEC championship game against Auburn in Atlanta.
Patrick was arrested just last month on the same charge, but this is his third arrest total.
The two were held overnight at Barrow County detention center in Winder, Georgia. That arrest led to a four-game suspension.
