The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, has expressed disappointment at the board appointments recently made by President Muhammadu Buhari which contained names of dead persons and duplication of names.
The founder of Fidei Polytechnic, Gboko, the first private polytechnic in Northern Nigeria was in April 2017.
The list comprised 209 board chairmen and 1,258 members.
FFK stated in a post on social media, said that the President's "Dementia has gone viral" after learning of the appointment of late Francis Okpozo as the chairman of the NPC. It was later discovered that there were six dead persons before SERAP's Sunday claim that no less than eight dead persons were included in the list.
The list also has a number of names repeated while members of the opposition party were also spotted on the list.
Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has assured Nigerians of better days in 2018, following the challenges the people faced in the outgoing year.
"How can they possibly initiate and successfully implement national and worldwide instruments for national development in today's competitive world?"
"This list is a historical list".
He also added that the blunder in the list clearly demonstrates that the governance of the country has been in the wrong hands in the last two years. We urge Nigerians to join the government to eradicate corruption to restore the lost glory of the nation.
"The President's trips for medical attention slowed down completion of the process and the current SGF was only directed to complete that process by releasing the list which he apparently did without altering it".
He explained that the list was compiled in 2015 by the ruling party but there was the need to clear some issues raised by some governors regarding the list. It dates back to 2015.
Subsequently, he revealed, the names were submitted to the then SGF, Babachir Lawal.
"However, complaint arose from some Governors who felt they were not carried along in the process".
"So, the President constituted a new panel chaired by the Vice President".
APC thanked Nigerians for supporting President Buhari's administration and asked them to be hopeful of brighter days ahead.
