The closures are just the latest for the troubled retailer, which has weathered massive store closures amid dwindling sales and increased online competition.
However, the store's closure could give Military Ave Partners LLC, the owners of the Sears shopping plaza at Mason Street and Military Avenue, new options to explore, she said.
"It's a shame because all those people are losing their jobs - I feel sorry for them all", said Tony Cammel from Weirton.
However, he's confident the Sears closure won't set the local economy back.

The Sears located at 5540 Winfield Avenue at Oakridge Mall is closing, and the store at San Rafael's Northgate Mall is closing too.
"Right now, there is nothing official and without anything official, we can't say anything", he said.
