The new Chromebook 11 will be available in two different variants with the main difference being the addition of a touch display on the CB311-8HT model, compared to the non-touch version which comes with the CB311-8H model number. Both will be out in February 2018. The Chromebook 11 G6 and 14 G5 are said to be an upgrade to the company's last-generation Chromebook.
The new Acer Chromebook is a fanless design running "the latest Intel Celeron processors" though Acer hasn't specified which ones. As is typically the case with Chromebooks, the battery capacity has not been announced although Acer suggests the new Chromebook 11 will be capable of operating for up to 10 hours off the back of a full charge, while connectivity comes in the form of support for 2×2 MIMO 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 Padding out its feature list is the inclusion of support for the Google Play Store and Android apps. In terms of difference, the 11.6-inch Chromebook sees the biggest change with a change in position of ports. The whole thing is 0.71-inches thick and weighs 2.43 pounds. Availability wise, Acer has said that the Chromebook will appear in the European, Middle Eastern, and African markets in March where the base model will start at €249, before launching in the United States in April for US$249.
