We'll continue to report on the Direct Mini's news as the morning progresses.
Dark Souls: Remastered will feature what publisher Bandai Namco is calling a "Dynamic 4K resolution" and an increase in the number of players able to participate in an online session. Wave 1 arrives January 31 and Wave 2 arrives on March 23. The game will launch later this year but no specific release window has been announced.
The game will be called Kirby Star Allies and is set to release on March 16th. Actually, we do know why: Bandai Namco are also releasing it for the Nintendo Switch. The demo can be downloaded from the eShop and played docked or portably. All maps, heroes, and DLC will be made available; we're talking content from both the DS and Wii U version, with a total of 29 characters. Plus there's new costumes for Link and Zelda based on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Nintendo being Nintendo, the game still comes with two-player co-op, but players can utilize spit Joy-Cons to play together. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for the Nintendo Switch release date is May 4. Moreover, new titles like Mario Tennis Aces are also expected this year. New DLC for Mario + Rabbidsincludes new story content starring Donkey Kong as a playable fighter this Spring. 2015's Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash for the Wii U was bare bones to say the least, and even its decent predecessor, Mario Tennis Open, felt lacking compared to what came before it. Players can also play in assist mode, which allows players to tweak the games hard to a slower or faster pace including taking on features such as the inability to take damage.
Super Mario Odyssey will be getting a free update next month.
Luigi's Balloon World is a competitive mode players can access by finding Luigi in each kingdom. You can find him rambling about Persona and cute animals on Twitter. That's right; you have 30 seconds to hide a balloon in the world before a player must find it. The DLC will be available this Spring. The game is the next iteration of Mario Tennis games. It not now known how long she will be exclusive to the Switch version of the game. Mario Tennis Aces may just be Nintendo's ace in the hole, and here are three that can completely change the game. Surprisingly, you didn't actually play as established Mario characters, but instead as new human characters like Alex and Max (not the most memorable Mario characters, I have to say). A new exclusive character will be added to the game for the Switch: Joy, a "Japanese computer whiz".
Fe lets you control a fox-like creature as it travels through a forest that reacts to the songs its inhabitants sing.
Celeste is a hard 2D side scroller that features over 300 levels to master. the title will feature an assist mode and feature numerous hard trials for the platformer enthusiasts. Instead, on your quest you'll be able to battle boss enemies as well as take on several missions, one of which sees Mario battling a gang of piranha plants.
