The accident occurred in the 300 block of E. 17th Street. One person was able to escape the vehicle, while the second person had to be rescued.

Authorities said a white sedan was traveling at an excessive rate of speed and hit a median on 17th St.

The driver struck a raised center median on 17th Street, launching the auto into the air.
The fire department removed the vehicle with a wrecker truck later on.
Horner said he does not have any more information on the occupants, but Santa Ana police said the driver admitted to having used narcotics.
The Orange County Fire Authority says the Nissan Altima hit a center divider early Sunday, soared into the air and plowed into the top floor of the two-story structure in Santa Ana. A fire that sparked as a result of the crash was also extinguished, officials said. Anthony Bertagna said police will be submitting the case to the Orange County District's Attorney's Office after running toxicology tests to determined possible charges.
