Overwatch League skins & sprays are now available in the game according to patch notes posted on the game's official forums.
To celebrate the momentous occasion, Blizzard has put team skins for each of the Pacific or Atlantic aligned teams for characters into Overwatch. These tokens are similar to other currency in the popular online FPS game, giving you access to a specific set of items that can only be bought with the league tokens.
Anyone hoping to get their hands on a League skin for their favorite team and character will be able to do so without actually buying any League tokens.
But the lack of clarity was also a cause for some concern among Overwatch fans, who have been left uncertain as to how they'd be able to watch the matches.
Equally, it was announced that the game's eSports teams will be allowed to sell their own unique team colours to fans.
Excited for the Overwatch League?
Aside from China, the new agreement provides exclusive worldwide coverage of all of the first two seasons of Overwatch League.
Twitch will be the third-party provider for everything from the regular season, through the playoffs and championship games and will broadcast in English, Korean, and French.
Speaking in a press release, Blizzard COO Armin Zera said that the new partnership is a way for fans to stay connected with the Overwatch League brand over the coming years.
"The Overwatch League is making a major impact on esports by reshaping the industry with city-based teams", said Kevin Lin, COO of Twitch.
The first season of the Overwatch League will run until June, with playoffs and finals scheduled for July.
Blizzard has experimented with streaming their esports events on platforms other than Twitch, and it has nearly always been met with resistance.
