Davd Silva has been returning to Spain for personal reasons.
The Spain global missed City's matches against Tottenham, Newcastle United and Crystal Palace last month, with Pep Guardiola's citing a "personal issue" for the midfielder's absence.
Despite his personal issues, Silva showed his great professionalism by declaring himself available to face Watford on Tuesday night, then playing the full 90 minutes with a good performance. Special thanks to my teammates, the manager and all at the club for understanding my situation.
Pep Guardiola has also confirmed that Silva could miss more of City's upcoming matches.
Guardiola added "he wants to stay because he enjoys it a lot, but family is the most important thing in life". You can see how essential David is to us but I don't know how long he will be here. It doesn't matter if we get no points while he is away. "Some days he will be here some he will be out, it depends how his family is".
United fans have inundated Twitter with their support, and they have been led by Gary Neville and Michael Carrick, who both penned moving messages of sympathy.
He has always been one of the few Man City players I've always admired: never complaining, deeply respectful, and always delight to watch.
