By midnight, temperatures are expected to be below zero with wind chills between -15 and -30. Breezy conditions will make wind chills as low as -10 degrees. A Wind Chill Advisory is issued when cold will combine with wind to produce risky wind chill values below zero. For us, the physiological response is to generate more heat in order to maintain a surface temperature.
New Year's Day (Monday): Out with the old, in with the cold.
On top of the cold temperatures we'll be dealing with bitter cold wind chill reading while out celebrating New Year's Eve.

Check out the wind chill numbers across the country. In other words, the air "feels" colder than it is because of the chilling effect of the wind on the skin. We tied the old record of 12 degrees from all the way back in 1899!
It won't be until we enter the weekend when upper teens on Saturday inch up to the 20s on Sunday. Tuesday afternoon will still be very cold with highs struggles to get passed the low 40s.
