Luke Chapman and Meredith Chapman's family also issued a joint statement Wednesday asking for privacy as they mourn.

Officials said this was a "thought-out plan" that likely involved Jennair Gerardot putting on a disguise and taking public transit from DE to break into Chapman's home and wait for her to return. Personal effects belonging to Gerardot were also found inside the auto.

According to Jennair Gerardot's LinkedIn account, the DE wife worked as a marketing manager for a South Carolina-based manufacturing company called Circor Instrumentation for five years, leaving the outlet in December.
