Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "personal connect" with BJP's grassroots functionaries and "keen understanding" of developmental projects were on display during his interaction with party workers via video conferencing, party sources said today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday hit out at the Opposition parties, saying the strength of BJP is affecting them and they are unable to digest that a person born into a backward family is serving the nation. "We were not obliged to follow their announcements", said Arvind Sawant, Shiv Sena MP in Lok Sabha.
Earlier, in his address at the rally on the occasion of the BJP's 38th Foundation Day, Shah expressed confidence that the BJP will win the 2019 polls, "not by giving hollow assurances but on the basis of work done by the Modi government". "I do not understand as to why the Congress is so happy". Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio said, "As participating and contributing member of NDA, we (NDPP) appreciate the inclusive spirit of the BJP".
"Amitji's address is expected to enthuse the cadres for the battles ahead and also spell out the party's position vis-à-vis allies like Shiv Sena", said the BJP leader. "The day the poor gets roti, kapda, makaan (food, clothing and shelter), that is when we will know we have achieved something". "This is why we were protesting", Alhuwalia said. "They should not feel bad about what I said", Shah remarked. It is due to their efforts that we have the honour to serve people all over India and fulfil their aspirations. "We can not serve to people in your regime".
