Addressing the party's "jan aakrosh" rally at the Ramlila Maidan, with the senior leader in the audience, he said the party will respect its experienced and young leaders and workers alike. But the language he has used against the prime minister is deplorable. So, now when people listen to the speech, they look for the element of truth in it. Launching a bitter attack on the Modi government, Congress leader Sonia Gandhi on Sunday said India had been turned into a land of falsehood, hatred, anger and violence since Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister. Hitting back at the Congress president for saying that women were not safe under the Modi government, the Union minister said the current regime had made its priorities clear with campaigns like "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao".
The Congress chief also criticised the prime minister for his "silence" on crimes against women and alleged that while Modi gave the slogan Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, members of his own party allegedly assaulted women. "Under PM Modi, for the first time in the history of our country, Supreme Court judges have had to reach out to people for justice".
