There was no immediate comment from Israel, but the country's air force has carried out several bombing missions in Syria in recent months. "We will not accept any limitation when it comes to the defence of our security interests".

Syria, Iran and Russian Federation have said Israel was behind a recent air strike on a Syrian air base that left seven Iranians dead. We will not allow Iranian consolidation in Syria.
Speaking to reporters during his press conference in Tehran on Monday, Qassemi pointed to the Israeli air strike on the T-4 air base near Syria's Homs and said, "The aggression on Syrian soil was illegal".
The Israeli military source reportedly warned that the confrontation with Iran had entered a new phase.
Hezbollah and other Iranian-backed militias have a large military presence in Syria and are well entrenched in central and eastern areas near the Iraqi border. Israel has sought to avoid direct involvement in Syria's civil war, but acknowledges carrying out dozens of air strikes there to stop what it says are advanced arms deliveries to Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah, another of its enemies.
"It should be clear to President [Bashar] Assad that his reckless efforts to acquire and use weapons of mass destruction, his wanton disregard for global law and his provision of a forward base for Iran and its proxies endanger Syria", the statement concluded. Iran also supports Hizballah.
In a statement on Saturday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the U.S., France and Britain demonstrated their commitment to the fight against chemical weapons.
