In the industry's quest to innovate the smartphone, manufacturers have mostly focused on the camera, the design, the screen, and security features.
In terms of specs, we're in the dark on this one.
According to previous leaks, LG is going to reserve OLED panels only for much more premium V series.
If you thought all four major USA wireless carriers planned to offer LG's latest smartphone, think again. It's been the trend of the past few years, and we now expect our higher-end phones to have at least two camera lenses on the back (shout-out to the Huawei P20's three lenses). The device has been code named as Emma and has been in the news for some time now. It is the first handset to have DTS:X sound to create virtual 3D sound and 7.1-channel surround with earphones.
Typically, seeing an "all-new" flagship device resembling its predecessor so strongly would make a lot of people mad, but at least the LG V35 ThinQ looks set to snub the notch trend the G7 ThinQ so controversially embraced.
The V35 ThinQ may also feature 32-bit ESS Sabre 9228 quad DAC and far-field voice recognition like the G7 ThinQ. However, AT&T has confirmed it won't be selling the G7 ThinQ but it could sell a different exclusive LG phone later this year. Sure, most probably won't even care about this feature at all, but there's something to be said about LG knowing what audiophiles want.
LG G7 ThinQ price in United Kingdom is £649. LG promised to share that information "closer to the time of availability".
On paper, the LG G7 ThinQ looks to be awfully similar to some of the market's top competitors, including Samsung's Galaxy S9 and Apple's iPhone X. But there are some details LG still hasn't revealed. It can be removed via software, though.
Android Headlines Has acquired a couple of images of the phone, which are believed to be AT&T specific renders lending weight to the thought that it could be an AT&T exclusive, in the States at least.
