The invisible symbols are responsible for the crash of the app or the phone. And in case you enter a number which is not registered with WhatsApp, the URL will display the message "Phone number shared via URL is invalid". It is advised that if you are aware of the repercussions of tapping on the WhatsApp message, you should not deliberately "touch" any part of the message.

Even though this bug is a new and it hasn't been going around for that long, the Android and iOS WhatsApp community is outraged. People are forwarding a message on WhatsApp, which stops the functioning of WhatsApp if you tap that message.

Before this, the same kind of message in the Tamil language was floating among the WhatsApp users, Facebook messages and other apps. On clicking the black dot crashes the WhatsApp app. However, it is still recommended to not click on them. However, this becomes hard because when you don't want to click on the message notifications that have piled up and accidentally open the wrong chat. Initially, this message just looks like any other message but potentially it is capable to affect your smartphone. It is better to delete such messages beforehand.
