The third-person platform puzzler will be out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC early next year. Ms. Geppert made of point of saying that she had written the game's original script during a period of her life where she was personally feeling very lonely.
In "Sea of Solitude", Kay becomes one of these monsters, and must find her way back to her normal self.
The teaser trailer shows the game's protagonist, Kay, who is becoming a monster due to loneliness. Sea of Solitude is scheduled for an early 2019 release. Something way more risky is hiding in the Sea of Solitude and it could be her greatest nightmare. The trailer alludes to Kay's desire to make peace with her inner darkness and to reach out to others who have the same monsters within them.
"Sea of Solitude" was picked up in 2015 and it has since been in development.
Jo-Mei CEO Cornelia Geppert took the stage today, stating the game takes place in a fantastical world focused around solitude and loneliness. Finding an emotional balance is the true goal, that will make Kay return back to her normal self.
