Reuters reports the District Attorney's office spokesman Greg Risling said prosecutors are reviewing the case, which was presented by the Santa Monica police department. As Deadline notes, an attorney for Stallone told USA Today at the time that the actor "categorically disputes the claim".
The alleged incident at the center of the case took place in 1990s, Lt. Saul Rodriguez of the Santa Monica Police said.
A representative for Stallone did not immediately return a request for comment.
Stallone's lawyer, Marty Singe, has denied any wrongdoing by his client and says the investigation should not have been made public. The alleged victim filed a police report in May.
"It is under review by our sex crime task force". Under the revised law, sex crimes like rape, forcible sodomy, and molestation of a child do not have a statute of limitations, but only if the alleged crime was committed after January 1, 2017, or if the previous statute of limitations had not expired by that time. The outlets reported the teen said Stallone, then 40, forced her into a threesome with his bodyguard.
Strangely though, a photograph of Stallone standing next to Trump in the Oval Office makes it into a four-minute video the Trump Administration recently made to persuade Kim Jong Un to rejoin the world community.
Singer said Stallone "categorically" disputed the claim at the time.
