A hotel guests' expensive sports auto had been driven by a valet underneath an SUV at a Sydney hotel on Thursday, May 31. The Valet, which the guest left the vehicle, lost control and was trapped in the cabin of the Porsche 911 soft top.
Escaping uninjured, the valet was "embarrassed and a little bit shocked", the hotel's director of sales and marketing, Matthew Talbot, told the Australian Broadcasting Corp.
The valet was reportedly attempting to park the Porsche when the auto got away from him, wedging itself under the Subaru and trapping the worker inside.
Police were called to the hotel to cut the driver out of the wreckage, as onlookers were treated to the comical sight of the black soft-top Porsche squashed under another vehicle.
"Thankfully he's in good spirits", Talbot said, adding that the valet had been offered the rest of the day off.
Guide Hyatt Regency Sydney promised to conduct a "full investigation" of the incident in cooperation with the local authorities.
"Hyatt Regency Sydney places the utmost importance on the safety of our staff and guests", a hotel spokeswoman said in a statement cited by the source.
However the auto in question - thought to be nearly 10 years old - could be worth roughly A$150,000.
