There is a new baddest man on the planet, and his name is Daniel Cormier!
Lesnar, whose most recent WWE appearance was at the Greatest Royal Rumble in April, entered the octagon following Cormier's first-round win over Stipe Miocic at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. It was the most consecutive title defenses in UFC heavyweight history.
BTW.Cormier becomes the second fighter in UFC history to hold titles in 2 weight classes at the same time. Right when he got to my seat on the side he was acting like a lunatic.
Brock Lesnar is back in the UFC. Lesnar is now in the WWE where he is the WWE universal champion.
Lesnar refused to answer questions about his current status with USADA to journalists at UFC 226 and Cormier did not know the former heavyweight champion would be cageside until he saw him backstage before the main event. That's like the Stone Age.
The two squared off for a moment before Lesnar shoved Cormier in the chest and stated, "DC, I'm coming for you, m--f--". "When you've got a guy like Brock Lesnar and you don't go insane on him?"
But where does Daniel Cormier sit in the GOAT discussion?
Prior to the fight, Joe Rogan heard Lesnar tell Dana White that he wanted the victor of the fight. So I'll do fake fighting with you until I put my fist upside your face.
Prior to the championship bout, betting favorites Francis Ngannou (11-3 MMA, 6-2 UFC), Paul Felder (15-4 MMA, 7-4 UFC), Michael Chiesa (14-4 MMA, 7-4 UFC) and Gokhan Saki (1-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) were all beaten by their respective opponents.
"Yeah, you're strong", Cormier said. I'm too old for this s--, you can't be doing that to me.
The pair clinched in the centre of the octagon and, as Miocic looked to break, Cormier came over the top with a short right hand that landed clean behind the champion's ear, sending him crashing to the canvas. I don't know where they are in the process.
The guy is the most successful heavyweight champion of all-time, having defended the belt more times than any of his predecessors.
After five years away from UFC, Lesnar made a triumphant return at UFC 200 in July 2016 when he beat Mark Hunt via unanimous decision, before his failed drug tests were revealed.
